The Competition Plus

For those who want a little more performance from the Audi TT but can’t quite stretch to the five-cylinder TT RS, there’s a new TT S Competition Plus model. Unveiled overnight in Europe, the new variant has a revised 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine boasting 235kW of power and 400Nm of torque. That’s up 20kW and 20Nm over the motor in the standard TTS.

Audi Australia has confirmed the TT S Competition is being evaluated for Australia, along with the Bronze Selection. The turbo engine is hooked up to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the car rides on 10-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels and magnetic ride control shocks.

According to Audi, the TT S Competition Plus coupe can complete the 0-100km/h dash in 4.5 seconds, an improvement of 0.2 seconds. Evidently, the convertible is a little tardier, requiring 4.8 seconds. As before, the top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.

Standard features include a fixed rear wing, red brake calipers, LED headlights, blacked-out Audi badges, and an Audi logo sticker behind the front doors. Inside the cabin there’s Nappa leather trim with either blue or red stitching, faux carbon-fibre highlights, and artificial suede trim on the gear shifter and steering wheel. The latter also features a 12 o’clock marker in either grey or red.

Apparently, Audi has also unveiled a new Bronze Selection trim pack. Evidently, this includes a bronze finish for the 20-inch alloy wheels, seat trim, air vents and center console. It also features copper contrast stitching. Additionally LED headlights and tail lights, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. In Europe, the Bronze Selection pack is available on TT and TT S models, and for both coupe and convertible body styles. There are three exterior colors to choose from: white, black and grey.
