This 1977 Datsun 280Z was purchased by the seller from Al Piemonte Datsun Inc. of Melrose Park, Illinois on November 17, 1977 and is finished in silver over a black interior. Power comes from a fuel-injected 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes later-model 14″ factory wheels, aftermarket side mirrors, an Ansa exhaust system, and a Concord AM/FM cassette player. Work since 2019 is said to have included repacking bearings, repairing a headlight switch and parking lamps, and the replacement of fuel injectors, fuel lines, the battery, and the front brake pads and rotors. This 280Z is now offered with a window sticker, 1977 purchase paperwork, manufacturer’s literature, service records since the 1970s, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car was delivered new in Sterling Silver (306), and the seller states that the body was refinished in 1985 due to rust in the rocker-panel areas. Equipment includes chrome-finished impact bumpers, hood vents, aftermarket side mirrors, and an Ansa exhaust. Paint chips, indentations, and blemishes are noted in the finish, and corrosion is present on the driver-side rear wheel opening. Close-up images depicting these flaws are included in the gallery below.

Later-model 14″ factory wheels are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and a June 2019 service is said to have consisted of replacing the front brake rotors and pads as well as repacking the bearings.

The headlight switch is said to have been repaired in June 2019. The factory air-conditioning equipment is present, but the system is currently inoperative.
