Ford GT for sale: Cashing In on a Good Investment

2017 Ford GT for sale. Ford GTs are going for big bucks now. The contract that owners signed prohibiting them from selling the cars for a specific period of time are coming to an end. That’s why, you’re seeing more of them going up for sale. Recently Moray Callum, Ford’s vice president of design, decided to sell his desirable Ford mid-engine supercar. 

This particular car is painted Liquid Red Metallic. It also features the Re-Entry interior package that includes white leather across parts of the dashboard and the seats. The car also gets some gloss black wheels, sliver brake calipers, and exposed carbon fiber accents—the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser.

Evidently, The GT was one of the first of the 2017 cars to be produced and is being sold through Canepa. The car has been driven only 204 miles and there’s no price listed. That said, these cars have been selling for over $1 million, so it’s been a good investment for those who purchased them for about $500,000 when new. It will be interesting to see what this particular Ford GT goes for.

The Ford GT is a mid-engine two-seater sports car. It was for the 2005 model year in conjunction with the company’s 2003 centenary. Apparently, the second generation Ford GT became available for the 2017 model year. The GT recalls Ford’s historically significant GT40, a consecutive four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (1966–1969), including a 1-2-3 finish in 1966.

Moreover, the Ford GT began life as a concept car designed in anticipation of the automaker’s centennial year. Also, as part of its drive to showcase and revive its “heritage” names such as Mustang and Thunderbird. Firstly, Ford unveiled a new GT40 Concept car at the 2002 North American International Auto Show. Camilo Pardo, the then head of Ford’s “Living Legends” studio, is the chief designer of the GT. Apparently, he worked under the guidance of J Mays. Evidently, this engagement included performance testing of the prototype car.
